I've seen on many blogs that what you do on New Year's Day will define your year. I hope not, because we were out tramping through "masses and masses of snow." Walking I don't mind... Fortunately, when we got back in, I worked on an old WIP. Now that part, I would like to continue.
So in this new year, I would like to:
- Find a job.
- Work on the marquoir at Strawberry Sampler's stitch night every month.
- Finish one quarter of my WIPs, or 6. (See below)
- Work on the finish-finishing. I'm not going to set a number this year.
- Finish sewing WIPs--these include the abandoned messenger bags. Let's get these done before the fabric is vintage!
- Use up my scraps making cards.
The WIPs List:
- Mirabilia, Christmas Elf
- Moss Creek, Elizabethan Rose
- Fancy Work, Noel Ornament
- Heart in Hand, Monthly Mania (March, September, December)
- Heartland House, Tree of Life Window
- Linda Jary, Majestic Rooster
- Nutmeg Needle, Treasured Tulips
- Hillside Samplings, Folk Art Threadkeep
- Curtis Boehringer, Apple Sampler
- Liz Turner Diehl, 16th Century Knot Garden
- Bent Creek, Snowman Stocking
- Watercolor Geranium
- Theresa Layman, mermaid
- Mirabilia, Emerald Mermaid (SAL)
- BOAF, Scared Silly
- Corinne and Gigi, French marquoir
- Dimensions, Santa kit
- Dimples Designs, St. Basil's Cathedral
- Heart's Content, Merry and Bright
- Hardanger Napkin Rings
- Lilybet, Spots Sampler

That sounds like a plan! Congratulations on only adding one unfinished project to the list. I think you have very sensible goals.
So glad you are back. I look forward to your posts. Your humor and attitude lift my spirits.
Welcome Back! I missed your last couple of posts, somehow... You got a lot of stuff done last year and your trip sounds great - despite the snow and sinking to the floor in the kids bed! A hand crank sewing machine? Who knew those were still around?
Your plan looks good to me. Maybe one day I'll make a plan. Nah, probably not but I like yours!
Good luck with your goals!
Perhaps one goal should be "start online stitching magazine...?" :)

I thought it was heaps and heaps. Masses and Masses is even better.
Good plan! And that's awesome you only added one WIP to your list in 2009. I think I added six!!
Strawberry Sampler is my favorite shop ever!

Sounds like pretty achievable goals to me! Good luck with all that :)
I decided not to set goals this year... if I have nothing to live up to I can only be pleasantly surprised with how much I get done, right?
Boy, your WIP list looks so much better than mine. I'm not even sure that I have one that's up-to-date. It was just too scary and shameful to keep tabs on it. I'm working on a Theresa Layman design, too. I've never been so de-motivated by french knots in my life. Sooner or later, I'll get back to it. Maybe I should list my WIPs, too, so I have some impetus to work on them... Great goals, though. Enough to push you, but hopefully not to stress you out.
