Stitches are Forever

Britain's Quick and Easy Cross Stitch magazine will reportedly feature Daniel Craig as their celebrity cross stitch pattern. My own celebrity fantasies notwithstanding I have got to meet the women (girls?) who are wasting their time stitching pictures of celebrities. Really. I’m ready to hop a plane to England to visit them.

This made me laugh, I've often thought the same thing! Those photo charts are so naff, urgh! They creep me out. Definately not being stitched here in Wales ;)

And Daniel Craig of all people. I can't ... just can. not. look at him without thinking "Gay Porn". (wonder how many James Bond fans know about that one.)

I've never understood the whole photo-rendered-as-stitching thing. I agree that they are just spooky. If I want something cross-stitched to represent a person, a favorite pet, my house, whatever, I'll find a chart that reminds me of it and maybe adjust the color scheme to reflect my thing better. But an exacting portrait in stitches of my cats? No thanks. Particularly no thanks to a rendering of some celebrity or anything with which I have no direct connection. Bleah!

I chalk it up to those little strange little differences between the "colonies" and brits, but couldn't say for sure. I would love to hear why they stitch them. and they are way past teenager age right? what do they do with them? make them into pillows and sleep with them? hang them on the wall till the next big thing? Seriously how many New Kids cross stitched pics have been thrown away?

Gay Porn eh? I thought Mr. Craig looked familiar in a very creepy way. (that was a joke! I do not watch gay porn...recently)

I never understood what would possess one to stitch a celebrity's face either!

If you go to the UK to meet them, let me know and I'll join!!! LOL

I betcha they are all old biddies...

I've often wondered about the unusual gifts that these celebs get from fans. Besides their likeness in cross-stitch, I'll bet people have sent macaroni pictures and all kinds of other odd mediums. Wouldn't you love to open their fan mail??
