I don't think I've shown this to you even oncesince I started it back in May! (And I promised to show it in June.) How did that happen?
The quote is from Wuthering Heights. Catherine says it about Heathcliff before she marries Linton. A lot of people consider this story a romance, mostly because they've seen the movie and not read the book. But there are those who find abuse equal to love, and I don't think anything I say on a crafting blog is going to change their minds about that. Anyway, since the dude and I read the book similarly, we can appreciate the irony of the quote used here as a celebration of our own marriage, which lacks revenge and abuse and wuthering heights. Sigh. You are fortunate to have a kindred soul who will read what you read. Love the quote.
Lovely stitching Nikki. Great design.

Nice! This will be a great anniversary sampler.
Lovely work.
Lovely stitching, but I agree thoroughly nasty story ;)
Lovely stitching :-)
Haven't read Wuthering Heights since school and can't remember that far back! It's on my 'to read again list'
I love the story behind the stitch!!!!
I agree with Faye. Great reasoning behind the sentiment. It's looking great so far - love the flowers!
I really like your selection for you anniversary piece! Looking forward to seeing it on your anniversary wall!

I read it at school and was frustrated by the pair of them, stropping about the moors ruining the Lintons' lives.
A shared sentiment for my husband and I would more likely be a Terry Pratchett quote!
It does have great scenery, you can't deny that!
It is a lovely pattern! I had not watched the movie when I read the book. I always believed it was a romantic story, so I found reading it a bit heartbreaking.
Your stitching is lovely!
