|Yes, we're unstitching that red dachshund.|
The dude is home with me today (and tomorrow). Penn canceled everything for two days on Sunday morning in preparation for the shit storm that is bearing down on us. We have been trying to use up the stuff in the fridge, because I am pretty sure we are going to lose power this time. (Some of our neighbors lost power for three weeks after Irene.) Better for the eggs and butter to be cookies than for them to get tossed out when the fridge goes. (Frankencookies for the Frankenstorm made with a partial bag of mini chocolate chips and a handful of butterscotch chips because that's all we had.)
Don't worry too much about us. This might be our first serious hurricane but it ain't our first rodeo. We've been through fires, riots, and earthquakes. We've had a flashlight for every room since 1994. We always have three gallons of water per (mammal) for three days. (At any rate, we're bound to have some extra H2O on the basement floor--the French drain is working overtime and we've only just begun.) If we do lose power, you can follow my shenanigans on twitter...until my mobile battery dies. Stay safe, everyone.
