I know you can't tell how long it took me to type this tonight, but I am typing without using my left ring finger (SWX). Today Stella leapt from the car to chase a squirrel. (She is usually uninterested in squirrels.) As I grabbed for the leash, one finger got caught in the loop. It ain't pretty. In fact, I'm starting to worry they might have to cut off my wedding ring. Stella is out of the proverbial doghouse, however, because she is so damn cute. And she nuzzled my neck. Awwww.

Less pathetic was the effort put into Love Me, Love My Dog (Mill Hill kit) over the last three days. (Here's where we started.) There are two oranges in that bottom section, and as I stitched it I thought, "why didn't I substitute an overdyed floss here?" Probably would have made that section go faster, and produce the same effect. What are you gonna do?
I have an all-day interview tomorrow, and I spent most of today prepping for it. So that's two days lost on my Emerald Mermaid. Still any love is good love for this poor mythical fish who has not seen the light of day since January 2011. Yikes!

Ouch on the finger! We made it a couple of times to the light show at Longwood and loved it!
Good luck on your interview.
Good luck on the interview..., finger boo boo.... Again, I am so so happy that you loved the finishes.... You stitch, and I'll finish!! Take care, Faye
Good luck with the interview. All day interviews are crazy.
That light exhibit looks amazing! Hope your finger is feeling better.
Oh no! Sorry to hear about your finger. I do hope the swelling goes down so the ring doesn't have to be cut off. Great progress on both projects. Star Light Star Bright is so close to a finish! Good luck with your interview. :::fingers crossed:::
Good luck on the interview. Love the Love Me Love My Dog and Star Light Star Bright, and I'm sorry about both your finger and your balky retina. Your waiting room account made me think of Flannery O'Connor.
I hope that your finger is better. Definitely not good if you had to have your ring cut off - hoping that you don't. Dogs, although so loveable, can really be a danger. Our dog hid a bone under his blanket, DD stepped right on the spot not know that it was there - now has a fractured foot. UGH
Love how Star Light is looking - the colors are just so different and sweet.
Ooh, sorry about your finger!
I would love to see that light show! Bruce Munro is amazing! Have you seen his chandeliers? He does custom pieces that he calls 'light showers.' Stunning!
Good luck at the interview. (All day interviews are killers, aren't they?)
P.S. Looking forward to both reading your review of the annual JCS ornament issue and to receiving my own copy of it. Hopefully I'll have it in hand when you post your review.
My Mira mermaids haven't seen the light of day since late 2009 and I don't forsee them coming out of their box anytime soon. Sometimes you just have to let it go.....
Good luck on your interview
