Pasta Cake

For Adrienne
The original recipe calls it pasta pie, but you put it on a cake stand, it is cake. The dude and I made two because it was supposed to serve 4-6, and we had 8 coming for dinner. The first one has been served out (off my only cake stand) and thus the stand is all greazee-eyeball* and schmutzed. Yes those rigatoni are standing on end. Yes, the whole cake is rigatoni standing on end...and then stuffed with meat sauce. Each.Individual.Rigatoni.

Kind of like meat stuffed manicotti only smaller and standing??? Looks good - probably tastes better!!

This looks so amazing! Stuffing rigatoni... all of them?!!

OMG - are you completely insane? I stuffed manicotti once. It was ridiculous. And now I con my husband into stuffing the shells when I make stuffed shells. Stuffing each individual rigatoni? No thank you.

Nice, but no friggin' way. I'm not into such intricate recipes. For instance, I love baklava, but I've only made it once. Serious pain in the butt. I love pumpkin rolls, but I make them once a year, at most. I'm more of a slop it all into a pan and get it over with kind of gal.

Okay, this is so unusual that I just have to try it. My kids love pasta, so this will fit the bill. I hope. Or they'll think I've lost my mind when I serve it!

I will admire yours from afar and never attempt to make this recipe.
