Off-Kilter Aphorisms

I was thinking of cross-stitching some pillows with movie lines. Sort of off-kilter aphorisms.

“The Dude Abides” was my first thought.

“I know it was you, Fredo” was my second.

Are there more moviephiles out there? (You know, movies beyond Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings.)

Do you have any ideas for the aphoristic pillow?

Sissy's poncho update
It turns out that I miscalculated how much I had left to do on this project. I thought that I had done 20 repeats instead of 25. Last night, when I hit 20, I got out the other half and realized I had 5 *more* pattern repeats to do. So I kept knitting. I only have 3 more repeats to do. I think I can finish this tonight. Tomorrow I'll block it. Sunday, I'll sew it. Monday, I'll finish the neck. Friday, I'll present it to Sissy.

Hee. Great idea.

"I want my two dollars!" -- Better Off Dead

"You're the sort who can't know anyone intimately, least of all a woman." -- A Room with a View

"Say hello to my little friend." -- Scarface

"I gave her my heart, and she gave me a pen." -- Say Anything

"Birds fly to the stars, I guess..." -- Moonstruck

Actually, I would like to stitch the entire script of Moonstruck on throw pillows and leave them all around my house. Ha!

Awesome idea!

Pal, that ain't off-kilter; that's just sick.

Susie, we had movie quotes on all the tables at our wedding--actually, all the tables were named for movies. For Moonstruck, we had "Snap out of it!" I like "say hello to my little friend."

You didn't know I had a little twisted streak?

How about: "We're going to need a bigger boat" (Jaws)

"It's been a slice" from Streets of Fire, one of my two favorite movies. (That quote is stitched and framed is a cutesy little slice of watermelon frame, you see it as you leave my house).

"My she was yar" from the Philadelphia Story.

Thanks for the idea. I have stitched and framed, but the pillow idea is much better.

My she was yar! That's one of my favorite movies! Also one of our wedding tables. We had this quote:
Tracy: Oh Dexter you're not doing it just to soften the blow?
Dexter: No.
Tracy: Nor to save my face?
Dexter: Oh, it's a nice little face.
Tracy: Oh Dexter, I'll be yar now, I promise to be yar.
Dexter: Be whatever you like, you're my redhead.

A movie line so wonderful I'd consider marrying it:

“Well, well…the people you run into when you’re not carrying a gun.”
--Ida Lupino, The Man I Love (1947)
