Anniversary Sampler Complete!

This was quite a weekend in America with not only our birthday celebration (or, as dogs know it, "The Worst Day of the Year") but also a giant win for the American women's national soccer team. (I will also take this time to say, "hooray, Title IX!" because you don't get to be that good at sports without money and encouragement. Just sayin'.)

I was also able to finish the dude's anniversary sampler. As you can see, I went with initials and XIV for the 14 years we've been married. This, it turns out, is how I've done many of the others, so it seemed only right.

I started back in on SamSarah's Shining Star, which I started during Christmas in July 2013. More on that at WIP Wednesday.

It was a great weekend, wasn't it? I'm so proud of our soccer players :)

Really love your anniversary sampler--the colors and the simplicity of the design are wonderful!

What a pretty design. Do you stitch a sampler every anniversary? How romantic!

Beautiful finish! Living in Japan, I would have been happy with either team winning.

Congratulations on getting your anniversary sampler finished! I like the initials and the how many years you included. One of these years, I should stitch this one.

Beautiful anniversary piece! I really like the roman numerals for your date. I'm going to have to remember this.

Lovely finish. We just celebrated eight years of marriage. And not winning the football! We came third. I love the idea of "third place decider" games. "Hey you didn't win but let's see who came not quite as last as the other team"!
