Yesterday I was in the craft room churning out 30 more holiday cards (New Year's to be precise) because I was back to work today. Don't ask me how those 10 days off flew by so quickly. (Well the first five are easily explained.) I knew that if I didn't mail them off today that I would spend my evenings regretting not making them sooner. As it was I regretted not making them sooner, but putting them off was explicable. Still, doesn't fulfill my antiprocrastination goals.
Must work on that.
I have been making new starts even if I haven't made it here to share them with you. On Saturday, I started "October Sampler" which was in
Just Cross Stitch as part of a series of birthday samplers that ran in 1995. (Talk about procrastinating!) I remember making one for my aunt (December) and my sister (February) around the time they came out. I am using all the prescribed materials. Like the Thistle that I did last year, this one has lots of specialty stitches and uses flower thread. It's quite enjoyable, and I was able to complete half of it while snuggled on the couch with the dude and the dog.

On Sunday, I started Winter Row, by Bent Creek. I am using Amsterdam Blue Belfast linen in place of the called for R&R American Blend. I am using the called for colors. As you can see, I spent the majority of my time on the cards.
I made another start tonight, but you'll just have to visit to see what I've been up to.

Lovely starts, both are beautiful designs. And wow, not bad what you have already stitched on the October piece.
Great starts, I love the colors on the October piece. And I hope you'll share the cards after they're received, I love seeing them too!
Great new starts Nikki. Pretty colors in October. I love those Bent Creek row designs and have most all of them.

Great starts! I've really been enjoying starting a new project every day.
I really love the October sampler you just started. I might have to investigate if it's included in the JCS DVD, being October my birthday month.
I like your new starts. Very pretty. Love that Amsterdam Blue linen.
I love the birthday sampler. Is LaBroderie the designer? The style looks familiar to me. Great fabric choice for Winter Row!
I've got the CD too, I'll have to look up those samplers. They seem to be a quick stitch and very pretty too.
I just fished out the magazines from a dark and dusty place.....I have plans to stitch some for birthdays!
Ha ha!
