I did want to tell you that I have learned today that my friend Marian, who I wrote about in this post, when she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, has died. I may go home tonight and make an almond pound cake and knit in her honor. May I suggest you do the same? Here's the recipe.

Life is so unpleasant at times. I'll think of your friend Marian tonight when I'm stitching (I don't knit anymore). Think of the joy she had when she was at the library with the group.
I'm so sorry, Nikki. Cancer sucks.
:(
I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. Almond cake and knitting in her honour seems like a good "wake" so to speak. I will be thinking of her when I stitch later.
Nikki, I am so sorry about your friend, but I think Melissa said it well, the cake and knitting in her honor is a great tribute.
I'm so sorry to hear of your friend's passing. I will knit in her honor tonight. I don't bake and DH is sick, so no pound cake for us. Lots of hugs.
So sorry to read this sad news. Knitting and baking in her honor sounds like a wonderful plan for the evening.
Sorry for the loss of your friend Nikki.

So sorry to hear your news. xx
So sorry for your loss. I think the baking and knitting idea is a lovely one. You will think of her whenever you see the item you knit.
I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend--pancreatic cancer is so devastating. I'm sure she would have approved of your evening's activities...
I am so sorry for you loss, may your friend now rest in peace.
Sorry for your loss...I hope you smiled with memories of your friend as you feasted on almond cake!
that is so sad, I remember reading about her last fall.
I can't knit (yet) and it's too hot for baking today, but I will keep her in my thoughts as I stitch.
lots of hugs,
chiara
