Embroidery

Embroidery is my crafting roots. My mother embroidered everything when I was young, and we had little crewel kits to keep us busy on rainy days. This cute little bookmark is a return of sorts. Pattern here.

For those of you who miss the cross-stitch content, I am looking for a day that I can dedicate to that craft, and searching for a small project. I don't want to neglect that which brings us together.

Another one Nikki. What an adorable heart. My mom tried to teach me to embroider when I was young, but I didn't do so well. I have many pieces that she did when you young with her mom sitting next to the radio. I will have to show some on my blog one of these days.

Embroidery was my first, too. This is a cute piece - dog eared pages are really offensive!

Love, love the bookmark! Our chapter donates bookmarks to a local reading program, and these will be just the thing! Thanks for sharing.

I have an embroidery piece from Girl Scouts - also the first stitchy craft I learned to do. My mother had a huge box of iron on patterns and I did a few pillow cases, and a dresser runner or two. And I still have a couple of the Aunt Martha hot iron on transfers around here somewhere.
