You might recognize this place if you've seen The Silver Linings Playbook. It's just up the road from us. Our plan for the weekend was to veg out and see a movie a day. When my old college roommate (now located on the west coast) messaged me to say her daughter was back in the dorm--alone--might we have a visit? We invited her to join us to see the movie and have dinner at the diner. Kitschy! The movie was very sweet and enjoyable. (Although... the guy behind me felt compelled to tell everyone around him what was going on. Movie-talkers! Grrrrr.)
The story of the novel the movie is based on is also pretty fantastic: a teacher quits his tenured position and moves in with his in-laws to write. You can read more about him here.
I'm pretty sure that I don't have to tell you how old I felt taking my college roommate's college-aged daughter out. I'm going to crawl into a hyperbaric oxygen chamber to see if I can reclaim my youth...

Hope it doesn't make you look like Michael Jackson! LoL
The picture of Street Fashion in the Sunday Times today was a 19 year old who loves "vintage" and her Dad says she dresses like a Grandma. Yes, she wishes she'd was in the 1980s!!!
Now I feel old too.
