I'm sure you've heard by now of Ravelry's go-round with the USOC. (If not, here.) Slate recently posted an article about it.
At least one powerful group is watching their every cross-stitch. That group: the U.S. Olympic Committee.
Someone commented that cross-stitch was embroidery not knitting, and people suggested she find her sense of humor. I don't even get the joke. Why not just say, "watching their every stitch?" Works the same, more accurate.

Thanks for that! The British Olympic committee are as bad, have you seen this on the news about a takeaway forced to change it's name in case there is some confusion!

My church is doing "Knit the Bible" later this year, can we expect complaints about that?
Oh dear, Jo. Expect God himself to write an inaccurate letter to your church telling you to stop 'cross-stitching the bible'. Of course then you can continue knitting, as you aren't cross stitching!
