You remember the before photos from my craft room. I'm pretty sure no one had a more jumbled craft room, unless they were on Mission: Organization and threw extra stuff in the room just to make it onto the show. Did you know my organizer was on the teevee? Hoarders and Mission: Organization. No wonder she thought I was easy! Because seriously, I told her I couldn't fit ten pounds of stuff into a five pound bag and kept suggesting we give things away.
Well, after six hours on Tuesday, it looks like this:
I'd show you behind the craft table, but there's nothing there! You can walk around in comfort. Stella came all the way into the room for the first time in maybe forever. She's been sniffing around curious about this mysterious place. I go in and just stand there and smile. And it's not even done yet!
My to do list:
- Sort through a bag of old jewelry (if you're on the lookout for 80s jewelry, give me a holler)
- file stuff on top of filing cabinet
- purchase a bookshelf (you can just make out the homeless books on the floor behind the elliptical)
- move the elliptical machine
- change outlets
- mend clothes
- sell items on eBay (or here if you are looking for flower frogs or back issues of Piecework)
- mail out items (a few things I have in mind for certain people)
- sort box of felt fabric (it's way too much!)
- buy dresser or container for fabrics
- buy storage for scrapbook paper (this will also mean I'm parting with my Crop in Style XL wheelie tote)
He retorts, "Probably for the only time ever."
I've got two weeks to have this all sorted. Then the fun begins!

Hey - we can see the floor! Good job! Dude was a little harsh with his comment though - geez.
Dare I ask - two weeks to have this all sorted out?
Looks amazing!
It looks beautiful!!! I would be interested in seeing the flower frogs and how much you are selling them for...
If the economy weren't so wretched, I'd go into the organizing business. I'm a type-A, married to a type-B, and my last child, also a type-B just moved out. I've had the best time cleaning and organizing and then just staring at what I've accomplished. My husband says I need mental-health help. Got to run, the attic needs me.
I would also love to see the flower frogs and know how much you want for them. I bet they would be great for holding scissors!
Hugs and Love,
Jennifer
Good job! What a great crafting space! You have to be feeling good after all that hard work.
Why two weeks? You know the Mayan apocalypse thingy isn't until December, yes?
Wow! Looks Great!
Woo! So impressive. Shiny table, shiny floor. Wanna come to my house?
Will you be going into crafty Busy-ness here in this immaculate space? Would love to have this service, but I'd have to tidy up, first!
Lovely job!!
LMAO...This reminded me of those "and that's when the fight started" jokes...
"On Tuesday night, I said to the dude, "Every room in our house is clean."
He retorts, "Probably for the only time ever."
AND THAT'S WHEN THE FIGHT STARTED!!!! LOL!!
But, I am happy for you that every thing is clean now and you can sit and stitch guilt free!!
Two questions
Will any of the old jewelery work as charms on a crazy quilt (stitched not sewn as in real quilts)???
Frog flowers - will they hold scissors??
JHM
needleworker's samplings
Hoarders, huh? It didn't look that bad when it was messy but it is great now. Will you feel guilty if it gets messed up again?
You're farther along then I am---found a few boxes of stuff that I didn't know I had, but I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
Lovely. I will let you be my inspiration next week when I tackle my room once again!
Lovely! You may have to post bigger pictures once it's all done. You have a very long list of things to do.
If I could have figured out how you go about doing it, I might have been a professional organizer.
kuddos to you! I have not yet begun to purge my sewing studio...to afraid to let go of my treasures even if I will never, ever use them. Someday...
Right now you can make the journey across the pond and you can do the whole of my house, thank you very much ;)
