Craftivism--Protests in UK

{Via Mr X Stitch} "At 1pm on Sunday 10th April craftivists across the UK will join a nationwide protest to demand a halt to rail fare increases.  Currently the coalition Government plans to hike fares by 31% over the next 4 years." Read more.

Please protest the train fare hikes. We'd do the same for you.

How cool is that? Protesting whilst sipping tea and eating jam sandwiches! What a great group!

Wow, wish I could go over for a stitch-in, but I wouldn't exactly be helping the environment if I flew over. I read the article, but what's the best way to really contribute to the protest, other than to stitch something up at break-neck speed and try to post it over in time?

For the record, you just made me think seriously about taking the train from London to whichever European work location I end up having to go to next. It's been years since I've been on a train.

Crafty activism - gotta love it.

I take the trains over here all the time, and yes, it is expensive.

Thanks Anna, I've just spent half and hour looking at the connected links and have emailed the details to our local train support group.

I'll be doing a carriage but won't be able to get to an actual protest as the trains are really bad on a Sunday here!!

I was a commuter for 17 years, 6 days of the week, got loads of stitching done!
