It so rarely happens that the thing in my head comes out in any recognizable way. I knew I wanted to make the owl white like Hedwig--since the nephew thinks he
is Harry Potter. But I had no idea how to pull it off. Then little by little things fell into place. When I was in a Joann's-induced daze, I found the fluffy felt. Then I was looking at
white owls online, and the face came to me, but how to make a face on felt. Felt. Felting. Needle felting! I had it sketched out, when Melissa sent me this link to a very
sophisticated white owl pillow. It made me think I was right on with the felting idea.
Today I brought him to stitching so I could sew up the stuffing hole. The old ladies loved her.
More on them later because we had our Pollyanna, and I've got something new to make.

Perfect! I bet your nephew will love her!
Great job on the wings. I had pattern once that made life-size parrot & toucan stuffies. I made several out of velveteen- the wings & tails were striped in different colors, but looked much like yours. I would have offered the pattern to you, but unfortunately, in the course of my great escape from the ex-husband 14 years ago, that pattern was lost. It's the one & only thing for which I even remotely consider stepping foot back in that house.
Your nephew is gonna love it! Those wings are awesome, too. Come on, don't leave us hangin' with the Pollyana story!
She's fantastic! You did a really nice job on the wings ::clap clap clap:: Very cool.
Cool beans! Your nephew will love this.
