Summer of Love: Christmas in July

Today's installment of beat up charts reflects my focus on Christmas in July:
Heartstrings, Magic and Moonbeams * Heart in Hand, 2002 Christmas Keepsake * Lizzie Kate, Ho Ho Ho * Silver Needle Secret Needle Night, Hatty Holidays

Both the 2002 Christmas Keepsake and Hatty Holidays have some leftover threads if you want them. The former has enough silk 'n colors to stitch the hat.

To win, tell me What's your favorite Christmas tradition? This post only. Winner drawn next Tuesday.

I'd love to have these charts and threads!

My favorite Christmas tradition is watching the Patrick Stewart version of "A Christmas Carol" with my son.

My favourite Christmas tradition is to get up super early (around 3am) with my kids and watch them open their stockings! After the stockings are opened everyone goes back to bed for a few hours and when we get up for the day all of the "big" presents are opened. This is something that my sister and I always did is now a tradition in both of our families. :)

My favorite Christmas tradition is opening one present before we go to bed on Christmas eve. Everyone gets to choose which gift it shall be and it is fun watching my sons try to decide.

My favorite tradition revolves around FOOD. For the present opening morning -- not too early -- we have a snack bar of country ham sandwiches on homemade biscuits, cheese rings, homemade cookies, See's candies that we bring, veggie sticks, and plenty of Christmas cheer (especially bourbon).

My favorite Christmas tradition is giving everyone new pajamas on Christmas eve. I give them early so they can be washed and worn that night. I get similar colors so everyone looks coordinated in the morning. If we have visitors, or we're visiting someone, I get them for them also. Big fun!

You do not need to enter me in your generous giveaway. Alas, I have more Christmas stuff in my stash than I will ever stitch. In fact, I think I've only ever done one or two very small Christmas stitches.

Oh I love those charts! I am a big Christmas freak!
We have a tradition of celebrating Christmas every second year on the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend. I do the whole routine - tree, decorating, presents, baking and all for our children as we do not come home from Arizona every year and I want to have Christmas with my children every year. Christmas is a spirit not a date for us!

It's hard to pick just one tradition, since Christmas is my favorite holiday, but I think it would have to be cutting down the tree. It's fun to do, regardless of the weather, and nothing beats the smell of a real tree in the house.

@Linda - That version of "A Christmas Carol" is also my favorite. I finally broke down and bought the DVD last year.

@C in DC - Our anniversary is also 12/12! We had a Victorian Christmas themed wedding - lots of pink and gold instead of red and green.

Every year my husband and I watch the movie Scrooged with Bill Murray. We love the irreverant take on A Christmas Carol!

My favourite family tradition occurs on Boxing Day. We dig out the Star Wars or Lord of the Rings trilogies (Episodes IV, V and VI of SW, we are not fans of I, II and II) and watch them from beginning to end.
