You'd think my life would be sort of chill right now since I am "between jobs." These haven't been the most relaxing two days off. Lots of errands to run, and I haven't been sleeping well. Maybe the next three days will see me spring into stitching action. Thanks for stopping by but I got nothing.
Well, I can tell you about my going away speech:
This was my first job on the east coast after 15 years in L.A. and I want to thank you for easing my transition. I've really enjoyed working with some of you. This is the bad thing about being a writer, people always expect you to say witty and charming things, but I've got nothing. It's true. I said "some of you," even though I had been thinking that I shouldn't say that under any condition. (One of the coworkers I liked pointed it out.) That's what always happens to me. I think "don't say it, don't say it," and I end up saying. Oh well. That's that.
Somebody gave me an I love this blog award, but I can't find it. Sorry. I do appreciate the shout out and am flattered.

Brilliant speech.
Ha ha, in an aside: "you know who you are!"
You will settle down once you have started at the new job, don't worry.
Go easy on yourself girl! You've had a rough time with the burglary and a transition between jobs is always a bit unsettling.
You spoke the truth - what your audience made of it is up to them.
A bit of a Bridget Jones moment for you there. Ah, who cares? I hope you don't!
I thought 'some of you' was okay. Heaven knows if I had to give a going away speech at my current job, I'd be really stretching it to find much positive to say about my coworkers. Other than that strapping Dutch fella who follows me home. ;) He's okay.
Hey nothing wrong with honesty right? Well sometimes...
