Tell Me Something Bad about Tulsa

Here are the photos that accompany the camp report. Sorry it took me so long to get them up; I've got no excuse.

This is the Samsarah patriotic heart. It's stitched with overdyed pearl cotton. The blue was stitched one stitch at a time, but the red was stiched in rows because I didn't realize the red was overdyed too. You can see the differences that result when you stitch overdyes both ways.

This is the altered Prairie Grove Peddlar stitched with those luscious Crescent Colors silks in the WhimZi frame.

This needlebook was designed by the staff and stitched with Medici wool. I have to add the trim. This project also came with the cutest pair of little scissors.

Three great pieces! I especially love Bee Bitchy. Cute frame it's in too.

From the picture of your patriotic heart, it appears that the red stitching has a smoother surface than the blue stitching. Is that really the case? If so, that's another way to add a different texture to one's projects. I think it's kind of cool.

The texture of the red and blue stitching is the same--both stitched with perle cotton. I think because I stitched the red all the way across and then back (ie /////xxxx) rather than one at a time (xxxx/) the color is not as variegated. The evenness of tone might lend itself to a smoother look?

Bee Bitchy -- love it! I have a lot of bee designs and stitch a lot of them. I think I need to do this one, too.

Just found this blog and am enjoying reading past posts. Loved your reason for not renewing EGA membership.

I belong to a stitching group in NYC called the Metrostitchers. All kinds of women -- almost all "working women" -- and men too. No rules. Any stitcher can host a stitching event or suggest an outing -- some times stitching related, some times not. We used to have retreats at Wyndham Needleworks when Lydia was still doing the stitching B&B. Lots of fun...and usually not twee. Looking forward to reading more.

LOL. I look forward to visiting your blog. You never cease to make me laugh.

Luv bee bitchy -- and that rabbit is too darling. I have a homespun elegance [small] bunny thing out to stitch this week.

I didn't realize C.Boehringer had some new stuff out. Now, I'll have to follow the link & check it out.

Love all your camp finishes, Bee Bitchy is my favorite! Sounds like you all had a blast. One of these years I'm going to plan to go. Your Tall Flowers looks great too. I love that piece.
