Seven Year Bitch

(How come I didn't think of that title for my most recent blogiversary?)

When I first started sending messages into the ether, I didn't know if there were any other stitching bloggers out there. And then slowly I found them...Many of those early pioneers have disappeared from the blogosphere. Of course, happily, many more of you have signed up. Nicole and Melissa were among those early stitching bloggers (though both have changed names and platforms).  I do know that for the past seven years, I have been reading Donna's blog Needleworker Not in Paradise and she mine.

We've tried to meet up before, but the calendars never aligned until Friday. I got a facebook message from Donna and we met up at the Strawberry Sampler. Because Molly was working, there were three New Hampshire natives in one tiny place at the same time; that's some kind of critical mass.

Donna is a delight. She kept apologizing for being in a fog from the drive but she was fine--and it's not like I don't know what such a drive does to you. After we both dropped some dosh at the store we popped over to McKenzie for a beer and nosh. And the conversation continued and continued and continued...and we didn't even have to talk about you. I had to run to pick up Stella, and Donna got to head to her hotel for a well-deserved rest.

It's wonderful that we can all meet up in our own time in this virtual stitching world, but it's great to meet stitchers in person. Wouldn't it be fabulous to have a meatspace retreat where we all showed up?
