The Movie of the Blog

If you got a movie deal about your life based on your blog. Who would be the leading lady and why?

I think you’re going to be shocked by my answer, but I’m going to say Judi Dench.

What?! I hear you shout, I thought you were all about showing the world that we’re not old ladies?!?

Listen, we’re making a movie not a documentary. We’re dealing with Hollywood. You know, the guys (I use the term advisedly) who think it’s perfectly acceptable for an ancient man to woo twenty-somethings. Think Harrison Ford (55 at the time) and Anne Heche (29) in Six Days Seven Nights. (If you want more examples, go here).

Women practically disappear from the screen when they reach a certain age. If you’re not sure what I mean, you should watch this. You should watch it even if you do know what I mean. It’s NSFW, but it is hilarious.

We already can’t convince the media that there are young(ish) people who stitch, how on earth can we go up against Hollywood and win? So I figure, let’s get Judi Dench. She’s good. And she stitches. She even stitches the word “cunt.”

In a perfect world, it’d be Janeane Garofalo, right?

I'm casting Mary Louis Parker for no reason at all except that she's one of my favorite actresses and I recently watched Season 1 of Weeds on DVD.

Hilarious video!

I'd cast Taylor Swift because... she stitches and I stitch, she sings and I'd like to be able to sing, and she's young and I'm young at heart. I've always wondered what it would be like to be a tall blonde. It's Hollywood--embrace the fantasy!

Great topic. I'm going for Cher. Because I want to share her wardrobe.

I got told once that I look like Amy Winehouse but as she's sadly not with us anymore I'll go with Cher. The story of my life will be a musical but told from the backstage point of view. I will ask for a cameo role for myself playing the promoter who cross stitches inbetween scenes.

Hmm, are we able to bring back someone dead for the part? I don't know who I would pick. I wasn't surprised by your choice of Judi Dench.

Bwahahaha! Thanks so much, I love this. :D

And Dame Judi Dench is amazing. She can carry humor AND soul in the same moment. Fantastic choice!
(based on my blog, it'd have to be someone who appears to spend all her time wearing crazy eyeshadow colors, reading books, being neutral about everything, and painting her nails. Liv Tyler, maybe.)

When I was in high school, I was told I looked like Jamie Lee Curtis. Now she can play me.

I'd pick Renee Zellweger since I loved the way she portrayed Bridget Jones in all her inperfection. And I am far from perfect ha ha!
