Sigh. All your marveling at my
energy and
sticktoitiveness (deeply appreciated, btw) was no match for the sewing machine. As you know projects that are sewn often take me aeons longer than they should. I have set-backs with bobbins and the machine just being generally unhappy with me. Today it was the thread. It just
ran out. Who runs out of black thread? Well, it probably wouldn't have run out if I hadn't dropped the bobbin, breaking it in half and rendering it useless, and of course, using up black thread. Here's where I got:
This is the
tutorial I'm using.
If you'd like to do something similar but with
two zipper pockets or
three! the interwebs have you covered. You might prefer a
slightly different shape.
And if the part that freaks you out is installing the zipper,
check out this tutorial.
Of course you can make other types of bags like a
tote bag or a
purse or a
sweet bag.
Okay, after a trip to Joann's tomorrow, I will sit back down and knock this one out. Because I do need another finish for tomorrow!
I've got 31 projects to show.

I like how the swirls around the heart are repeated in the fabric you are using. Grrrr! Sewing machines, that's what I say!
You are too funny! You are putting too much pressure on yourself, and are making some people (me), who are procrastinators, nervous. :) The design is very pretty.

Cute design Nikki.

Sewing machines and me don't really play nicely together. I do like a nice project bag though, much better than the plastic wallets I use.
My sewing machine and I wrestle with each other at times...I like your project bag...

Oh my goodness Nikki....now I'm starting to feel positively nervous! All this energy and productiveness!! It's making me positively shamefaced!
Another fantastic finish!
Very nice job - especially with the problem machine 😗.
That's so frustrating. Looks good so far though. Thanks for the links -- the zipper tutorial is one I need. If I ever get the courage to try sewing things with zippers, that is. lol!
I have a trepidation with sewing machines, and sewing skills in general. Good luck on completion. I'm not sure I will be brave enough to try a zipper, but thanks for the link.
Thanks for all the links. I would love to attempt a project bag, unfortunately I have the same problem with my sewing machine as you have with yours. They must have come off the same production line.
Looks good so far! I like the 2 zip bag you linked to and might give one of those a try. I don't like to put my scissors in with my project so this would work better than a single envelope type.
