Smalls SAL: Baby Edition

My entries into the Smalls SAL. Please forgive the horrible retouching; it's there to protect the babies' privacy, and I did it on my phone.

I don't know what was up with my math skills on this but I stitched both baby names (over one!) twice because I simply could not align them. And I'm not certain that Sugar Rea's is centered. (The dude says it is fine.) I also had to do the year twice on both. Sigh.

I'm taking them to the LNS this Saturday to have them finished. Just too cute to leave a heart-shape in my incapable hands. This is a Lizzie*Kate pattern called 1st Christmas. Every time I saw the cover photo of the couple's first Christmas ornament with "The Thompson's" I went nuts. It should be "The Thompsons" (plural, not possessive). Even if you were implying that it was the Thompsons' Christmas tree that the ornament was hanging on or the Thompsons' house it was in or that it was the Thompsons' ornament it would have to be both plural and possessive. It's only Thompson's if you are talking about one Thompson, and since it is "Our First Christmas" ornament, well, I hope you get the idea by now.

ROTFL! Oh my gosh, you are a girl after my own heart! The incorrect use of apostrophes and other such errors drives me nuts!!!! Have you seen or heard Weird Al Yankovic's "Word Crimes?" Very funny and appropriate! Anyway, love the ornies. They are perfect!

These are going to be so gorgeous when they are finish/finished. And don't tell anyone else what a pain the centering was--just acknowledge your applause!!!

A wonderful idea! I've been collecting Hallmark ornaments for my nephews - I figure I'll give them to the boys when they graduate from college.

Cute ornies. I've never tried a heart shape either. Best to leave it to the professional's ;)

Hello I just found your blog and enjoy it very much. I've seen the LK first Christmas design and have thought about making it for my son :). You can check out my blog at www.crafting across continents.blogspot. com

Love the ornaments and your stitching but really appreciate your comments about apostrophes. I just don't understand what is difficult about getting it right but sometimes it feels like I'm the only one who cares.

Clearly from reading other comments I'm not alone.

Way to go on getting the ornaments stitched up for the twins! I am looking forward to seeing them in their finished form.

Love these two cute ornies. I have not attempted a heart yet although I did do an uneven triangle. It was intentionally uneven!

I am definitely part of the apostrophe police. So is my son, I am so proud of his ability to correctly place the apostrophe. Who says they don't learn them nothing in schools these day?

Ha! I am paranoid about the correct use of apostrophies, so it makes me nuts when they're used incorrectly. I also have a fondness for stitched ornaments, and have attempted heart shapes. They're easier than you think, but still a bit on the tedious side and easy to screw up.
