Progress

Thank you for your kind comments about my tree. We were looking at it one night, and I said, "The garland looks like it was put on by a drunken monkey." The dude replied, "That's what I like about it!" (He hates "designer" trees.)

I'm happy to report I have been successful in baking all the cookies. I have boxes  to ship this afternoon to my grandmothers. I brought in a tray to the daycare people this morning, since it is our last day of work, and Stella's last day of daycare, until the new year. I am still behind in the cards but some have gone out. If need be, I can just switch the sentiment to "Happy New Year," and all will be forgiven.

Tomorrow the girls are going to see White Christmas (singalong!) and have lunch. I love this tradition. And we have my favorite party to attend in Princeton Saturday night. On Sunday, I'll work on cards and wrapping. Monday will be our trip to Port Richmond for our Polish delicacies. (And lunch at Syrenka another favorite tradition!) Then it's all cleaning all the time. Things have gone to pot at number 9. I'm pleased to report that I'm still pretty relaxed and in the spirit!

I have been thinking about new year stitching, planning, gathering supplies. I joined Stitching Lotus's Smalls SAL, but influenced by Linda and her hundreds of projects, I've decided to up the number of projects I am working on--but only to 31, the number of days in January. My goal is to have fun stitching them, not to be finished with them all by the end of the year.

If I don't see you before then, have a Merry Christmas!

Too funny about the "drunken monkey" comment! I like your tree...it reminds me of the silver garland we had on our tree growing up. I also don't like the "perfect designer" tree look. We have all seen those trees - all the ornaments connecting to one color or theme. Too perfect...and too boring.
