Strawberry Pins Forever

Thank you for all your compliments on my good looks and my crafting talent. I feel so undeserving of your praise. Probably because my mother spent so much time being critical when I was growing up. Wait...let me get another glass of wine.

So anyhoodle. I was poking around the craft room yesterday looking for a kit or small stitching project that I could whip up so that those of you who are just trolling for cross-stitch content might stop and look for a second. And I came across the Just Another Button Company pincushion kit I bought. I've only bought one even though I think they are all adorable. I've actually restrained myself. I guess when I see that kit, I see a pile--a BIG pile--of money burning. Not any more*...

Sorry for the gruesome picture. The weather here today is shitastic.

I did get a little grumpy when I was making this; I won't lie. They said I should pin that calyx in place before I stitched it, but I'm so awesome, I thought I could hold it in place. (Really, I'm so lazy I couldn't go up a flight a stairs to get pins.) After pulling out my stitches for the third time, I went and got the pins. Utterly defeated! But, it looks pretty good, doesn't it?

*Is it wrong that unfinished it's burning money, but finished it's a pincushion?

It's very pretty indeed - congrats on the finish. Of course it isn't wrong: you can't stick pins in burnt money.

Very cute indeed! Glad you got the pins!

Another cute finish Nikki. You sound like me, you'd rather do it the hard way. lol

Yep! Another great finish. I really like Gio's comment and totally agree with her. I never seem to do anything the easy way, either.

I love it! I've thought about getting one of these JABC pincushions but never have. As for doing things the hard way -- yup! That's me too! lol! So I totally understand that!

Very cute! Grumpiness and crafting go hand in hand for me, that's why I don't craft. But I kinda fancy the notion sometimes ;)

Love seeing your projects (esp. that scarf in the post below), and your picture too :)

That should have read "that's why I don't craft, I am grumpy enough" haha!!

Very cute.....and can imagine how frustrating it must have been ....I'd need to figure out what a calyx is first :D And with my big hands...stitching itty bitty pieces together would have me grumpier than a bear!

I love it!

I'm so glad they use really wool felt in their kits. Otherwise I would have a pile of burning money waiting to be turned into pin cushions.

...and now you can make as many as you like from the kit knowledge - not burned money!

Hi, it's your Mother here! No, it's not wrong, this is pretty and useful LOL.
Talking of burnt offerings, have you seen Shirlee's new header and read the story behind it?
