Today at Old Lady Stitching my friend Marian inadvertently said the funniest thing. I was cracking up but I didn't write it down and now it has flown from my head. I am, however, left with the feeling that kind of laughter gives you. I think that's my favorite thing about Friday morning, and I have a sneaking suspicion I'm not alone.

One of our members was just back from France, and she brought back the most delicious wafer thin cookies. Oh, goodness, they were good. Another woman was just back from Boston with pictures of her daughter's wedding. She showed them only to me because her daughter is a lesbian who wore a suit. (Massachusetts's law is giving new meaning to "Boston marriage," isn't it?) She was worried that not everyone would understand because her "daughter didn't wear a dress." She had shown us all the invitation which was a circus ticket--the wedding had a circus theme including acrobats, popcorn, and cotton candy. Fabulous! Young people in love.

I gave out their bookmark thank you notes. You'd have thought I'd delivered the moon. They're such an appreciative audience. Someone asked if I had stayed home last week making them. (If only.) One woman told me that she'd have to get back to her book but first she has to make herself put down the crochet hook. Another had tears in her eyes and told me she was taking it on her trip to Georgia. (I don't know what that means.) They're already talking about next year's tree!

I stitched a bit on Off the Deep End. I'll photograph it tomorrow when I have the light.

Wow, how nice to get such an appreciative reaction. You let them know how much you care, and they did the same. Lovely!

And a circus themed wedding? Fabulous!

I'm happy for you that they love you enough to appreciate your gifts and trust you as a confidant.

Sorry ... now you've given me that nice feeling 'belly laugh' with (I don't know what that means). I'm still kinking away - is she planning a trip?
