No Fairy Tale

The squirrels decided that my fairytale pumpkins needed to be carved.

Today I made cornbread for the stuffing, cranberry sauce, and a cheese ball. Tomorrow, I'll make the brine and do some chopping. I'll pick up the turkey and pie and three apples that I need for the apple crisp. And I'll clean {I hope}. For Thursday cometh.

And I've been grateful that we finally have squirrels again in our neighborhood after the hurricanes of 6 and 7 years ago!
F--- them if they can't leave pumpkins alone.

I am having dinner with friends since I'm the singleton, All I have to do is bring the soda. They think I can't cook - and I like it that way

They're still fairy tale pumpkins: just Grimm's. It appears to be the broken-down Datsun B210 of pumpkin coaches.

Personally, I am very fond of squirrels and feed them right along with the birds, providing them with trays of nuts ... I figure it's a small price to pay for the entertainment value of watching them grab all the nuts and then tackle the "squirrel-proof" bird-feeders. The acrobatics involved are more interesting than Olympic level gymnastics. If I had a bigger yard, I'd install one of those challenge courses for squirrels that I have seen on You Tube. [I own a townhouse with a usuable yard the same size as my living room]

Damn squirrels! Kinda funny though.

Today is - cheese ball, deviled eggs, pumpkin cheesecake, and oreo pudding dessert. The noodles are finished and the house mostly clean. Bring on the hordes!
