Here's the package:
I sent a few extras since she's waited so patiently. From the left, two packages of pearl-head pins, a mini quilt, a spool of mini-pom pom trim, It's Berry Time pattern, the Souvenir de France freebie, and a quilt pin. You can adjust the pin to make different patterns. As Lelia would say, "kewl." And thus you know how it was when I saw a "Kwilt" pin, I knew it should be hers.
This was the promised piece. It is Blackbird's Souvenir de France. It's stitched with Rainbow Gallery's cashmere. I think it's violet.
This is what took so long...Okay, it's part of the delay. I had this Blackbird fabric, but couldn't find it for the longest time. I knew I wanted to finish it like this with this fabric. I'm going to pat myself on the back here. Just look at how I matched up the fabric! I was nervous about that. So that's another part of the delay.
Here's a little close-up of the quilt. I wish I could say that someone I knew made it. I do know that my mother bought it on one of her quilting expeditions. It is dated 1985. Does that make it vintage?
Anyway, this package is vintage in blog years. I have such a sense of relief. And if I ever decide to have a giveaway for a blogiversary again...What? It's next week? What shall I send you? {wink}.
I'm so glad you liked it, Lelia!

Awesome Giveaway! You did a great stitching job with the Sovenier de France. Glad everything arrived safely to Lelia.
It's a gorgeous packet though. I bet Lelia is a very happy camper. Hey, you should see it like...if you wait long enough it's a double surprise. (because after 2 years I wouldn't have expected any packet anymore). With that said, Lelia might be double happy...lol (just teasing here...your packet is gorgeous and anyone would be delighted to receive such beautiful things)
Souvenir de France is beautifully stitched and finished. Love the back of it as well.
Wow, that is some impressive finishing! Lovely color choice for the freebie, too.
Very "kewl" giveaway. Well worth the two year wait in my opinion.
I can't imagine anyone being concerned about waiting for that giveaway!
Great giveaway! I am sure Leila loves it no matter the wait. I like how you matched up the fabric in the back. Great job!
Nice giveaway and I am sure it was worth the wait. The finish is wonderful and the back is fantastic! Glad you have a photo of it since you gave it away.
Well, that is a lovely package, and I should say it was very much worth the wait for Lelia. You're definitely a master (mistress?) finisher! Oh, and I'm *very* glad I'm not the only one who isn't all that quick about sending promised gifts :o)
You know me so well .... and, I had no issue with waiting.
I enjoyed every item you sent. The needlework in Souvenir de France is perfect. Precise and even stitching. Excellent color choices, too.
(And, really, the pin is very very kewl!)
Great prizes! Better late than never, right?
Great finish, I love the way you've lined the alphabet up perfectly.
And no, 1985 is not vintage, I have clothes that old, and boots!
Lelia is very lucky and I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one who misplaces a backing fabric for a year or two. Great job at matching up the lettering!
Lelia is a very lucky girl! Love your finished piece - and that kwilt is so awesome! Great job on all.
Now that is what I call a giveaway! Nice one. I love the finishing!
Better late than never. You did a great job on matching those letters. I always look at clothes and absolutely hate when stripes or patterns don't match. Your matching is absolutely perfect. Great job!
Again Anna, your finishing is perfect. Love the fabric choice for your stitched piece. It certainly looks like you made the wait worth it with the extras you sent! I am sure Lelia will enjoy.
That is a nice giveaway and well worth the wait....
