Two Years

Recently we celebrated Stella's two year adoption date. It's hard to believe we've been hanging around with her for that long.

She's come a long way. When we first got her, she wanted to go in six directions at once, now she walks well on a leash. And she only goes crazy when she sees a rabbit, and not even then. She no longer treats us like human chew toys, which is nice. Strangers can pat her on her head without her freaking out.

It took her weeks to understand "down," now she knows the word "hungry." Her vocabulary continues to grow (eat, greenie, chicken, treat, touch, park, walk, run, wait, tunnel, outside, leave it, bed, crate, up, among many more). She recently started agility training for fun (rather than competition), and she loves it.

And we love her.

Fur babies are the best! Congrats on your anniversary. What breed is she?

I agree with Denise - fur babies are the best. Bailey has finally started calming down enough where I'm no longer a human doggie treat and will come up to me and just press next to me for comfort. He's a sweetie, but I wondered if he would reach this point.

It looks like Stella has some favorite toys that she likes to sleep with. And she's probably so happy that you adopted her. I think you both won when you adopted her.

Congrats on the mile stone. One of our dogs is an adopted dog too. We rescued her because she shelter would have put her down as being a problem dog. It took us quite a time to change her.
Stella looks gorgeous. And it is great to hear such a success story. :)

What an adorable face! It takes a big person to adopt an animal and take on what someone else considered a problem or a lost cause. Bravo!

No, it truly doesn't seem that long, at all. Stella is a lucky one, and so are you and the dude!

Big hugs for Miss Stella! I'm sure she loves you too. Grace Kelly still 'mouths' us when we get home after an absence, not a bite at all, just a lot of dog drool.

I can't believe it's been two years! It really doesn't seem like that long. Maybe one year. Awesome! I'm so proud of you guys for rescuing her and taking the time to train her and get her calmed down. She's worth the effort and I hope to meet her some day.
