No because I think birth order traits are a load of crap. Oh, let me be less offensive. Psychologists of merit have found no significant correlation between birth order and self-reported personality. Really, now, you wouldn't expect me to go in for pop psychology, would you? (I really am no fun, and I don't think it has anything to do with birth order.)
Besides, my sister (only sibling and younger) and I craft together on occasion. Let me show you what we did two Saturdays ago:

Well, birth order may be a load of crap in your family, but correlates just perfectly in mine and my husband's. Is it because we are farther apart in ages to our siblings? Is it a sign of the times we were born in? I have no idea, but if you saw us together you would not think that my sister and I have anything in common or that James' and his sister were raised in the same family. Maybe it is just IQ, but James and I might as well be raised by wolves compared to our staid and stodgy relatives.
Anecdotes aren't data.
I don't think birth order has anything to do with crafting at all.
I think it might have something to do with whether you were exposed to that sort of thing growing up. My mother was very creative - embroidery, leather work, painting, etc. I myself am also very crafty - doing lots of embroidery, sewing, art and misc. stuff as well as gardening, baking, etc. However, one of my sisters has not a crafty bone in her body and my youngest sister likes to knit but that's about it.
I know my son has the same talent for art and drawing that I do and my daughter is a very good photographer - so hopefully the creative gene is passed along in some way.
Love the cards and boxes you made. Fabulous! And I'm mighty impressed you're getting a start on the Christmas gifts. A lady at guild last night said that come September 25th, she starts in on the gifts she's making. I usually wait until December 20th and then fail miserably.
Great job on the cards & boxes! I wish I had a sister. I still ask my mother if something could be done about trading in her eldest son for a daughter, but she won't do it. As far as crafting and birth order, I am the only daughter--I have three brothers--and refused to do any needlework as a kid. ?? Who knows.
Birth order? Well, the only difference that I can see that it would make would be in the kinds of resentments that children might have because of when they were born. (I intended that sentence to be precisely that awkward. Thank you.)
For example: the oldest children are Starter Children. Parents don't know what they're doing and they tend to have unreasonable fears and expectations (Pro tip for n00bs: your child's fit throwing might = future axe murderer. Or perhaps indicate that they are, you know, three years old. It's okay. Chill out.)
But then, no one leaves the family nest unscathed--and I suppose that blaming "birth order" works just as well as blaming your parents. :)
