Summer of Love: Mill Hill II

Three Mill Hill Beaded Sylk Ribbon Pin Kits (complete).

I bought these to make for my grandmother who is into all that Victorian hoo-ha, and I don't mean vagina. She gets Victoria magazine, and her house makes me nervous because it's filled with stuff like tassels, dolls, china, and kitschy odds and ends. My mother's house is also filled with stuff, but it's not so froufrou. Our house is more tailored with occasionally empty flat surfaces. We have stuff, probably too much of it, but it's not everywhere. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Some people feel grounded by their stuff and others feel oppressed by it. So, you? (I know these kits aren't for everyone, so do tell me if you want in on the drawing.)

Drawing next Tuesday.

Substitute "country" for "Victorian", and you have my mother! Although, it's getting better now that they've moved out of the family homestead.

My house is overcluttered. We just emptied our storage unit, and I'm working my way through all of our junk. I can't begin to tell you how much stuff we've taken to the charity shops this spring, and we're still overwhelmed. My weakness is books.

No need to enter me in the drawing.

I laughed at your comment - my mother-in-law isn't into country or frou-frou but ohmygawd is her house full of stuff - just crap from everywhere! I blame the 20+ years she worked at Sears for that!
Our house has calming empty areas too - you know, so you can look at the olive green wall or hardwood floor or stone fireplace - and the older I get, the less stuff I want.

So please don't enter me in the drawing and please don't invite me to visit your grandmother either -LOL

Definitely grounded by stuff. I can't really explain it. I just like having tangible stuff.
In 20 years I'll be one of those crazies who should be on Hoarders.
Please include me in the drawing.

I confess part of me is drawn to the Victorian hoo-ha, and I don't mean vagina, either. Deep red velvet? Bring it on! I think I'd enjoy visits to your grandmother's house.

But I can't stand dust, and I'm not fond of dusting, so stuff is out in my personal living space. The books are bad enough.

No contest for me, thanks.

Not grounded by stuff. Always looking to be rid of stuff. Cleaning out my parent's stuff and recently helping my mil (definitely grounded by stuff) pare down her stuff to sell her house (that she has lived in for 50 years!) has only served to make me even less into stuff.

I have plenty of stuff... but am trying not to.
No contest for me.

My stuff I like - books, embroidery supplies and the like. My MIL's stuff - cupids, knickknacks, breakables - I can do without.
Bead kits that can become tree ornaments - definitely my thing. Please sign me up.

Oh, I am SO a stuff person. Just mentioned it to my husband last night on the commute home. I'm moving offices, and packing up my cubicle has been a interesting job. I have seven (SEVEN!) boxes so far, and at least two to go. Where did I get all this crap?

I have a girly niece who would love these. Count me in.

I, too, am a stuff person. My weakness appears to be kitchen stuff. I can't pass up a gadget! Please include me in the drawing. Thanks!
