This morning, I did a floss toss for the dude's Christmas present--the map of Bermuda. The original pattern calls for the background to be stitched. I don't think so. Not when there's colored linen out there! So I pulled the floss and threw it on a couple of pieces of blue linen you've seen around here before.
First, I tried the light blue on which I stitched By the Sea.
Then I popped it in on murkey depths--I'm stitching Emerald Mermaid on this.
Then I looked at the colors and said, wow, those colors remind me of something...something Edgar sent. Ooooh, I'm thinking silk
So, what are you thinking?

I like the third one - stuff from edgar.
#1 or #3 are my votes.
I like the one from edgar.
#4... love the silks on the darker fabric!
Definitely #4- the map in bright "Bermuda" colors on the "sea" of the blue fabric- PERFECT!

I like the darker linens, too. So #2 or #4. But one can never be certain how true the colors are in digital photos on a computer. And I was wondering what it would look like on a more teally fabric like PTP's Calypso?
My 1st choice is #3
My 2nd choice is #4
You know me - a total silk freak - 1st #3, 2nd #4.
I'm thinking #2 and #3. And #4. Hmm. I like them all. Sorry for my comment, which was no use at all.
I vote for the silks on the same fabric you did "By the Sea" on. I think that the teal is too dark, although the colors really do POP, as someone else noted.
