Having had a month of guilt-free starts, I'm ready to make some promises to myself for this year. In 2008, I would like to:
- finish-finish two projects a month--and we know I have plenty to choose from
- hang Toy Gatherer in my house this Christmas
- stitch a lot of things for myself.
That seems do-able. Now how to achieve this? Carol seems to have much success by (mostly) following a daily rotation. I'm going to try that this year to see how I do. Beginning today this is my new rotation:
- Monday: Scissors Sampler Box (not long now), followed by Folk Art Threadkeep
- Tuesday: Anna's Bird
- Wednesday: Emerald Mermaid
- Thursday: Apple Sampler
- Friday: Tall Flowers Sampler
- Saturday: marquoir
- Sunday: marquoir (the only way I'm getting anywhere on this!)
- Traveling piece: Monthly Mania

I always thought that I'd never be able to stick to a rotation, but I finally caved and started one sometime last year when I was starting to feel piled-upon by my current WIP's...and it has helped me. I've had to shift it up a bit from time to time, like when I have a deadline coming up, or when I'm trying to meet a monthly goal...but for the most part, I've stuck with it.
Congrats on 1000 posts! I'm only about halfway there, I think.
Congratulations on your 1000th! That's a lot of writing, and I've found it to be highly, if not hilariously, entertaining! Your blog is a "Must Check" every day (because I still can't figure out that orange feed button thing-y).
Good luck with the rotation- I haven't reached the point of having so many WIP's to try it, not for lack of wishing I did. I guess I'm a one-or-three project girl.
I brought my own to the BYOB party!
Happy 1000th post!!!!!
Happy 1000th! I love reading your blog and since no-one signed up for my PIF I'd be happy to PIB to you.
Happy 1000th!! I love to read you, and try every day.
Just curious - why did you change your portrait? Did I miss that in an earlier blog?

Happy 1000th! Good luck with your rotation.
Wow. 1000 posts. That's fabulous. I was wondering what the "999" was yesterday.
You always amaze me by the amount of stitching you get done every day. I'm lucky if I manage to stitch one evening per week.
I like the dog picture.
Thanks everyone for your kind words.
For the curious, I took my portrait down to put up the "blog for choice" thingy, and then I couldn't find the picture of myself again. That dog is my aunt's aerdale Jameson (for the whiskey). Some day I'll run across a photo of me again and pop it up there. For now, enjoy the dog. This is as calm as he gets.
Dear Anna, I love your blog and haven't visited often enough, which I mean to change this year!! I have an awful time with Rotation for myself. I'm just a "gut stitcher." Meaning, that I have to have it hit me in the gut every day before I can stitch on a WIP or a new project. That's why I love stitching and it doesn't get stale for me. I may not finish alot of my big projects, but they'll all get done at practically the same time one of these years because I tend to stitch a little on all of them!! LOL I hope you can stick to your rotation better! Hugs, Deb
Congrats on your 1000th... May you have many more thousands!
Cheers :)
Congratulations on your 1000th!! I may try the rotation thing myself. I'll work on my Mermaid this Wednesday with you!
btw - I can't comment on your poll post, it says comments have been disabled. But I chose "Other" because I don't think I've ever lost a project.
