La-D-Da

My first scan! I could have smoothed the fabric out a bit. We've had this printer for months now, and I finally scanned my stitching. Since my camera is on its last legs, even this wrinkly scan is better than the photos I normally post.

This is La-D-Da's Sweet Dreams stitched with the called for floss on silver linen of some sort. I am replacing the words with my nephew's birth statistics. I hope to be able to finish it by the end of the month. I probably won't give it to them until we see them at Christmas, though. But if I am done before July, I can take it to my framer in NH and get the family discount. I can pick it up in October (we're going to see the leaves!*) and bring it to England when we visit in December.

*I was born and raised in NH, but I haven't had a proper autumn since 1991.

I also stitched this as a birth sampler (for friends) - it's just such a timeless, lovely design.

You'll see the fall foliage in NH?? Oh, I am so jealous! I lived in the White Mountains till I was 12 and there is nothing more beautiful than the leaves of a New Hampshire autumn!!

Gorgeous! I just love this piece. I can't really imagine an autumn with leaves that change and all that.

Great project! I love La-D-Da!

Girl, you are autumn deprived. What's up with that?

On Being Autumn Deprived...
Lots of people will tell you that there is beautiful color in southeastern Pennsylvania, but that's only because they didn't grow up in New England. (So that accounts for the last two years.) When I was in graduate school in Los Angeles, I couldn't just tell them it was leaf season and I needed to go home. I lived in L.A. from 1991-2005. Even when I was finished with school, it was a hard sell to get the dude to fly to NH in October. Now, not.

That's really beautiful! I spent 4 Autumns in MA, and I miss the leaves every year.
