Sorry I'm so late tonight. I had Cookbook Club. We cooked from the Smitten Kitchen cookbook. I made blue cheese and black pepper gougères, which the dude and I think got better as the night wore on. One recipe we all have to make is the mushroom bourguignon; it was amazing!
This ornament is something I pinned ages ago. I thought it would be wonderful to make these for the dude--I could do one for every trip we've taken together and write the year on the back. This map was pretty dull, but it is a significant sliver of land from our trip to Nova Scotia last year. I managed to get in the national park we drove through and Ingonish. Meaningful, but not snazzy. Which is why I had to paint with glitter on the edge--same glitter on last Monday's man craft. And then I swiped some across the ornament for fun.
I think it is a cool idea! You could make the dude a set of them for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteLovely idea
ReplyDeleteI love Deb's recipes. I've been reading her blog for what seems like forever. Every recipe that I've tried has been a success!

ReplyDeleteAnother clever idea Nikki.

Your Cookbook Club sounds so much fun. Love your ornament. It's a great idea. These will be awesome keepsakes and a great way to remember the adventure.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute idea. And, yeah, speaking as a Canadian, maps of vast areas of this country are pretty boring. We like things spread out, except in a few areas like around here.
ReplyDeleteThis ornament is a great idea. Terrific memento of a trip and an excellent way to remember the places you saw.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good idea for an ornie. I have a lot of old maps I inherited from my Grandad.
ReplyDeleteThis is another terrific idea!
