I'm afraid the most difficult thing about craft-a-day is the associated social media.
(We entertained a local college student for dinner tonight so she didn't have to have iffy cafeteria food.) Anway, enough complaining...on to the craft!
I don't remember where I encountered this project originally, but I thought it would look great in the map room. In fact, that's what it says on my pinterest pin.
I knew I didn't have as many coins as she did, so I bought a small shadowbox frame. I glued them onto the backing. Some of the coins did resist the hot glue (the queen in particular) but I just kept reapplying. You can see coins from Bermuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Poland, Italy, Ireland, Great Britain, Canada, and Hungary. Some of those aren't even in use anymore. In fact, there's a euro in there somewhere.
See you tomorrow!
Great idea! Manly yes, but I like it too! (Sorry, I couldn't resist!)
ReplyDeleteNot bad, not bad. This is looking really great and a gorgeous way to display all the different coins. (And yes, the Euro is the one with the gold ring around the silver center).
ReplyDeleteOh I like this!! Finally something to do with the odd coins!!
ReplyDeleteThat looks really good. We've got all kinds of old coins lying about, it might be a fun way to display all my pre-decimal pennies
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to get those coins from our travels out of the box in my sock drawer!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great addition to the map room!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic idea! My husband has been doing a lot of international travel for work and we have a lot of currency laying around. I may have to look into doing something like this for him.
ReplyDeleteFantastic idea! Such fun!
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever idea Nikki. I love it.

I love what you have done, this is such a cool idea!
ReplyDeleteI have loads of foreign coins just sitting in a jar, and also some German Reich Bank notes which my uncle bought back from WWII. I never knew what to do with them, now I do!
Thank you for sharing
Ohhh! I love this one. I have 2 similar ideas pinned that I'd like to do for our family room.
