Home Sweet Home, Finis

I'm hacking up a lung right now. I should be preparing for my interview on Monday but I'm so tired and unable to focus. I hope I get well soon so I can get through all the things I need to do to be ready to dazzle them with my brilliance and wit.

I've spent the last three evenings stitching Home Sweet Home by The Goode Huswife. It's stitched on silver 32-ct Belgium linen with the called for silks. I finished it in a year...with about nine days of actual stitching. (Here's the start and here's the last time it was in a rotation.) I'll have to bring it with me on Friday so the ladies can see I finished something. There will be great rejoicing throughout the land library.

  1. Lovely finish. Congrats! I seem to have a thing about keys lately. There are a lot of designs that use keys, plus I just used a key icon in some software I'm developing. Some psychoanalyst could do a lot with that I suppose.

  2. Great finish! I am sure the old ladies will be shocked and thrilled to see your finish! ;-) Hope you feel better. This whole flu/cold thing has been terrible. I am finally back to normal after two weeks. Good luck on your interview next week.

  3. Very pretty stitch! And I hope you get better soon--nothing worse than coughing your way through an interview so hard that you pee yourself. Avoid at all costs. Best of luck on the interview, too.

  7. This is so sweet, definitely worth the effort to finish it. Hope you soon feel better so that you can indeed dazzle them with your brilliance. Someone once advised me to blow my own trumpet in an interview as no-one else would do it for me! Good luck Irene xxx

  9. Rejoicing around the WORLD, you mean. Well done, lady. I started about this ones two years ago and it's nowhere near finished.

Hope you feel better soon, and good luck with that interview.

  21. Your Home Sweet Home looks amazing. I tried to stitch it using the WKS conversion (except I had the Topiary), and it looked so different from the picture that I gave up. Maybe I'll break down, buy the right threads, and try again - yours is reminding me how much I liked the design!
