Easter Treasure Hunt

Are you here for Jo's Easter Treasure Hunt? I've got a letter for you:

T

Happy spring! This piece is by the Trilogy from the March/April 2000 Just Cross-Stitch magazine. I used the fibers that were called for but I tea dyed a piece of fabric myself. Where you can see that big blob, I left the tea bag sitting right on the fabric.

I also framed this myself. It's a premade dark blue  frame with little bobbles on it from Michaels. While I am pleased with the stretching job I did, I think the frame is totally wrong. Too much space on the top and bottom. (Always a critic.)
Teeny ladybugs

For the next letter, you should head over to Gracie's blog: Needles Pins and Dragonflies
Good luck!

  2. I love the design you've chosen.
I too have a problem with standard size frames, that's why I'm always in the charity shop looking for weird shapes!
    Thanks for posting your letter.

  3. Why not add some ribbon or lace to take up the space? Or even a pretty strip of scrapbook paper.

    LOVE the ladybugs!

  6. Yeah, me too (always a critic). Was scanning my wall of tombstone angels recently and said to myself, "You should be able to do better than THAT!" Some grassy-looking ribbon would be nice across the bottom and a few extra lady bugs flying in the "sky." Wait - were you asking for suggestions?

  7. That's a lovely piece. If you're not happy with the frame you can always re frame it into something the right size. Of course that would require stretching it all over again.

  10. Very cute design! You did a great job framing it, but like you, I find it hard to find frames ready made that fit a lot of pieces very well. I've got a couple that Joanne's tells me are too small for them to frame, but yet I can't find a good size. I guess I'll have to mat them or something.

    Happy Easter.
