Yesterday, we took a ride out to Goldsboro to check out Wilber's. It was quite an adventure right from the start when our GPS wouldn't recognize the address and ending when a guy in the ghetto told me I was beautiful with his friend confirming I was "just his type." I almost shot back, "Overeducated and underemployed?" Instead, I thanked them and got back in the car. You could taste the smoke in the food at Wilber's, which is just how I like it.
We also visited the North Carolina Museum of History, and I got a good shot of a sampler that was in their collection. I'm pretty sure it was stitched by a free black woman since it was in the section on Thomas Day, a free black cabinet maker who made some awesome furniture. Anyway, much more about our trip later.
I've been so sick--all the NyQuil symptoms--but it's the only time the dude could come, so I've been trooping along.
Anna, Don't let that Nyquil cold long. Mine turned to Walking Pneumonia. Those darn GPS.. They always send you where they think you want to go!! Seems yours wanted to go to The Hood!! lol Glad you did for your Bar-B-Que place!!
ReplyDeleteAbout to catch another dude in the south? LoL. I'd loved to have seen the face if you'd said what you thought! Enjoy your visit - don't recall you mentioning that you were headed this far south... Take care and be well.
ReplyDeleteYum, bbq!! Hope you are feeling better. I love your roly-poly snowman!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!

ReplyDeleteReally interesting story of the sampler at the museum! Picture?? LOL
ReplyDeleteLove the snowman!
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling better soon.
Hope you're feeling better soon! I've been doing Nyquil shots every night before bed for the last week. I feel your pain.
ReplyDeleteThat being said, BBQ makes everything better!
