Fickle Finger of Fortune

Unfortunately, I did not finish all the exes on Emerald Mermaid this weekend.
Fortunately, I was able to stitch two threads each night.
Unfortunately, I had to work most of the day on Saturday, the nicest day we've had in three months.
Fortunately, the work was pretty minimal and mostly involved sitting in a green room (not actually green).
Unfortunately, I thought I was going to be working/engaging visitors so I didn't bring the mermaid or a book.
Fortunately, I had a small (secret) project in my bag.
Unfortunately, I spent so much time working on that, I ran out of two colors of floss and finished all the work with the third.
Fortunately, I was able to replenish the flosses (and a fistful more) at 4 for $1! I can continue at a later date.
Unfortunately, this week is chockablock and I have pressing dates every nigh this week.
Fortunately, we're celebrating my mother's birthday in May and I've bought myself an extra month! Phew.

Excuse me while I point out that that extra month is the slippery slope that so many of us stitchers slide down (and I spent a lot of time agonizing over whether that was us or we since I'm speaking to the grammar police!). Your mermaid is looking beautiful and I am confident that she will look gorgeous when you present her to your mother.

My sister and I used to play that game when we were kids lying in bed not wanting to go to sleep! That's how well we got on, even our games were a battle of wits!

Nice stitching though.
