Y'all are so good at commenting when I finish something...so that's the secret! Thanks so much for your kind words on all the stuff I've done lately. I've been entertaining the dude's brother and wife and the nephews--who knew boys were so much...MORE...than girls? The boys (the Potterites) are 10 and eight, just slightly younger than my nieces but wow...miles apart. I had to take a rest day. Of course, Stella's inability to welcome people into our house added to the general chaos. My nerves can't handle it. I have been remarkably restrained in my drinking. ;) {Wait, what does that emoticon mean?}
I finished another of my Crazy January Challenges. The long drive on our recent return from Maine (and minimal navigation) gave me lots of stitching time. Our journey home took about seven hours. (A first for us! I don't know if we dawdle, drive slowly, or just go at the wrong times, but it always takes us more than eight hours where my sister and cousin can do it in six. Go figure...) Either way, Blue Snowman Shepherd's Bush (kit) is complete. I did skip the words in favor of more wind and snow.
I also worked on Lizzie*Kate's Dog Lessons for People. I almost finished that on the drive too except I ran out of Deep Sea with the top reading, "Dog Less( for P." I did pick up (even more) Deep Sea when I picked up my framing so I could finish.
Finishing 15 projects in 12 months requires you to complete one and a quarter projects per month. (I don't know why I am only thinking about this now!) I should have finished 10 but I am only at five. Before the end of this month, I should be at seven...which is still not 10. And Christmas crafting season is approaching...sigh.

Exactly why I don't work well with those deadlines! I can't enjoy my stitching and feel pressured to "just get done". Try to enjoy each stitch!!!
Just try to remember that the joy is in the process! (BTW, is there an emote for drinking????? I need to use one of those soon!!!) LOL :)
I have 2 and 1/2 of my Crazy January Challenge projects to go ... but lest you think I am bragging, I hasten to add that the two complete projects left to stitch are Primitive Needle's Black'd Skie, Allesandre's Zucca and the halfway done piece is Teresa Wentzler's Tracery Dragons. All of which qualify as BAPs in my little world. I am not sure I'll get them all done by December's end. Your snowman is a lovely finish. I say we should enjoy the CJC for what it is ... an impossible dream ... but dreams, even impossible ones, are good things, right?
Lovely stitching Anna. Congrats.
If I was you I wouldn't pressure myself into any deadline. Anything that takes away the fun of stitching should be forbidden by law!!!
You can stitch while riding in the car? Oh BARF!! Not me.
I love that snowman finish and the blue fabric is gorgeous for it.
I loved doing Dog Lessons for People ... but I had a million problems with the first like the DOG LESSONS FOR PEOPLE ... First I did it, and realized I had dome part of it lower the the other wording. so I had to take it out ... then I realized that no I had indeed done it right so I took every thing out for no reason at all... and of course, in the 2nd stitching, I DID go down a row lower and had to take the asme sh*t out again...
that line was a nightmare.
Blue Snowman is absolutely adorable! I'm glad I didn't know about the January Challenge. I wouldn't have any problem with the 15 new starts part, but no way on the finishing those 15 in the year. I really enjoy the flexibility of just stitching whatever I'm in the mood for and not worrying about a deadline.
Cute! I love this little piece and even finished it earlier this year. I call her Blue Snowgirl instead. Love the change of more snow swirls instead of the words.
Love your Blue Snowman! All of the SB snowmwn are so cute. (Hmm, why don't I have any of them?)
Don't worry about finishing all 15 projects. You should just enjoy and have fun with your stitching. You'll be stressed enough with Christmas gifts, so don't add to it!
oooo love the snow man :) and well done on the dog lessons .... glad you had a good time with the family ... I've only got 3 left out of the fifteen to do and have stitched loads of other stuff in between as well .. it has actually taken me out of my comfort zone and got me to stitch more ... although I have often thought have I bitten off more than a wee mouse can stitch I seem to be getting there ..lol *pass the drink please hahahahah ;) love mouse xxxx
How cute! Love the swirly snow.
I am SO glad I didn't sign up for the crazy January Challenge- better you than me. %^P
At least, your stitching! I don't do well with deadlines.
@Peggy Lee: I too have motion sickness but found a wonderful OTC medication to take: Bonine (sp?) It's like Dramamine without all the sedatives. I don't even know I have taken anything except I can stitch in the car! It's amazing! I have to ask for it from the pharmacist but no RX needed. Hope it works for you!
I'm with you on the Crazy January Challenge. I think I'm just going to continue my challenge into 2012!
Is restraint in drinking a good thing? Man, seems like if there was ever a time to double up it woul be when the house is a-buzz with chaos.
Just kidding....sort of. I prefer my house 'company free'.
Love all the stitching progress...including Dog Lessons which I didn't comment on but seeing it makes me want to stitch it.
Pam
You aren't the only one who probably won't finish the crazy 15. I'm still plugging away on them also :) I plan to carry them over into 2012 .... and, no I don't plan on joining the crazy 2012 challenge.
Your snowman is very pretty -- congrats!
I love the look on the snowlady in the last pic you posted! Nice finish and great progress on the dog rules.
I have a son and many nieces, boy are simply M-O-R-E. But I love my boy! Only a little less dramatic and a whine a little less.
I like your alteration! That blue is really pretty. I saw on a blog recently someone drumming up business for next year's challenge! And there were takers!! Can your challenge pieces be used for Christmas? Two birds, you know?
