Mariner's Compass
Hand pieced
10 blocks
I think you might be starting to see the point...I've lost count at how many works in progress we've found. Don't forget the ones I salvaged from the attic--and the ones we just plain threw out.
I really don't know what to do with these. Hand pieced squares cry out for actual hand quilting...

Wow -- yes, the do cry out... I do so love the Mariner's Compass pattern. Happy quilting... in all your free time. ;)
Stunning!! Do not throw out!!!
Ooooo! 10's plenty for a throw size. Just find some sashing and you're in business. Or send them to me, and I'll find sashing. ;)
Do not throw those out! You could maybe make a lap quilt? What about some cushions for the couch? Those blocks are wonderful, the Mariner's Compass is my favorite block probably because I know I could never get all those point to stay pointy. LOL
How beautiful! I really wish I knew how to quilt.....maybe one day!
Oooh yes perfect points! I would go with the lap quilt suggestion, sashing between to show off the blocks. I would probably arrange them 3 x 3 and have 1 spare for a cushion cover?
Hand quilting would be lovely but how many lifetimes have you got? I bet you could also machine quilt it? Have you come across this site, it has some lovely ideas: http://freemotionquilting.blogspot.com/
Go on, like you need a new hobby! ;)
Oh - those blocks are gorgeous! I know you won't toss them - I also know you could sell them - heck, I'd buy some myself. Think of the beautiful pillows they'd make on my navy blue leather furniture!
Yours is one of three blogs I manage to read regulary - thank you for sharing.
Ooooh, I love these squares. How about some strips of blues and white in between? Baby quilt? Throw? Hand quilting could be fun. I may have to come after you if you throw them out.
Those squares are gorgeous, if you only ever do one quilting project in your life, it has to be with these. ;)
If I found such a stash of unfinished quilts like that at my mom's house, I'd end up having a heart attack. I'd feel compelled to finish all of them, and it would completely stress me out. Eventually I would give up and pack most of them all away again, and my hypothetical kids would have to go through the whole process over again. This is why I stay away from the piles of stuff at my mom's house.
