Heart in Hand

Hi! Hello! Not dead yet. But you might think so from the dearth of comments on your blogs. I don't know how it's happened but I have about 200 unread items in my reader. I will read you, someday. Every word.

Look what happened: Nic said, "Those quilts are lovely - the sampler quilt reminds me of one that is still in construction in my own stash. I think I need to learn from these posts that I need to finish it ..." I thought someone might get it.

And I didn't mean to cause any heart attacks about throwing away quilts. We had to throw away some that were stored in the attic in cardboard boxes (I think we've already discussed what a bad idea that is...) that had been nested in by various rodents that inhabited my parents' attic over the last 30 years. (It's the country; these things are unavoidable.) What we have here was stashed in the family room, and won't be thrown out. Don't worry. Though I have no idea what I'm going to do with this.

Today's entry in the pile o' quilts from my mother's stash are hand appliqued hearts. I have no idea really how they are supposed to be laid out, though I am pretty sure I've started off better than I've ended up in that photo. That little heart that I placed on top of the others still has the needle in it.

Okay, I've got to make stuffing and broccoli casserole. 'Til tomorrow!

I've taken the comment a stage further, see the second of today's blog entries ...

Thanks for the virtual kick up the backside, and Happy Thanksgiving!

I like those hearts.

Good luck with cooking. Baking here starts in just a little while.

I've really been enjoying your posts on your mum's quilts. How lucky that she has you to care enough to finish some of these treasures. I'm off to try and finish something now, I think.

I like your hearts, I even like the tree shaped layout in the picture.
