It took me so long to pick up my framing from the January sale, that they had already started the May sale when I finally hit the store. Sadness. I guess it has been a busy few months--and I'm sure you don't forget, snowy too--and when you only have one day to get to the LNS (Saturday) that's 40 minutes away, yeah, you get the picture.Anyway, the first picture is Midsummer Night's Me & You Sampler. I think the gold on the frame coordinates nicely. I'm very happy with this one. Soon it will find space on the anniversary wall.
But I am over the moon with how this one came out! The frames themselves are a little brighter, not quite as muted, just like the piece itself. I was all set to enter this one in the fair when I noticed (to my horror!) that I forgot to finish four stitches on the coral flower that hangs over the house. I don't know if it is worth it to me to have it taken apart and put back together just to show it off to a larger IRL audience. Oh well, my light will be hidden under the bushel again. ;)
They are both wonderful - well worth the wait. Really like the color pallets used for both and the frames are fab.
ReplyDeleteLovely frames for two gorgeous designs. The First Star is my particular favourite. I would feel compelled to take it apart and do the stitches though.

They are both wonderful! I can see why you are especially pleased with the second one - the frame picks up that yellow-green beautifully!
ReplyDeleteThey're both lovely! If you didn't get glass on your pieces you likely can sneak those stitches in without having to take it apart Just use a waste know and cut it off when you have the stitches in, so what if there are a few loose tails in there, nobody will know.

ReplyDeleteBoth look fantastic! I love Star Light and the idea of fixing the flower sounds like it's worth a try. if it doesn't work, you can always unframed it.

ReplyDeleteIf you decide you can finish off those four stitches, used a curved needle, not a straight one. Less pulling on the fabric to get the needle in the right place.
ReplyDeleteI've done this, several times. You don't even need to really finish off the thread properly, as it won't be disturbed.
