Tiny Bit o' Stitch

I have been working away on my ornament because it's due tomorrow. And I was so pleased...down to two colors of Belle Soie...where are they? Do I not have them? Instead of racing all over to find the colors I need, I cleverly call my local thread dealers. One has one of the colors but is closed today. The other store is open today but has neither color. Oh for want of one strand of Eiffel Tower and another of pecan pie! Apparently Hurricane Sandy has had a significant impact on Crescent Colours. And we are not getting these colors in time for my ornament to be completed tomorrow.

Anyway, when I hit the road block, I picked up Boris. I didn't get terribly far. I'm not even sure this is worth showing you.

I made my SIL a birthday card...I love the yellow and grey combo that is showing up everywhere these days.

  1. That seems to be a rule of some sort, no matter how large your stash, you will not have all the colors or fabric or embellishments needed to finish without a trip to the internet or your LNS. Your SIL card is wonderful!

  2. Such a bummer about the Belle Soie. So why are Crescent Colours affected by Hurricane Sandy? Boris is adorable still. And that card is fantastic!

  3. Great looking card! Bummer about the floss! I don't have the Pecan Pie, but do have a skein of the Eiffel Tower if you want it.

  5. Boris is looking good Nikki. Sorry about the floss shortage. I much prefer good old DMC and keep at least one extra skein (some 5, some 10, some 40). I have to order my floss with the exception that Walmart carries a few colors now. Great looking card.

  6. Isn't that always the case? It seems no matter how hard I plan, I'm always missing something. This month, and entire Earth went missing.

  8. I hate when that happens. I'd probably just find a substitute, if at all possible. Great looking card!

  9. Ugh, I hate it when I run out of colors and I only need a little more to finish! Hope you can source some soon. Boris is looking great! I love the card you made...I have a thing for yellow and grey too.

  10. What a great card! The color combination is pretty too.

I hate when I'm missing one color needed to finish something, and inevitably it is not found in my stash of 'doubles'....

    Boris is looking good also!
