I really enjoyed seeing all the different crafts last time. I almost wish I had the energy to try the same thing. But I know myself and know I would fail horribly. So, I'll let you do it. ;)
Of course we all say "Of course"! We get the great advantage of you doing all the research and work, we get to choose those crafts that seem coolest to us.
I'm just starting my 8-year old on some spool knitting, which I loved myself as a kid. I'm going to have her make some pen covers first. You just knit the spool long enough, finish off and insert pen.

I said "of course" because I'm too lazy to think of another way of doing it as per option 3. LOL.
