When we were helping my parents clear out their home of 30 years, my mother offered me some vintage pyrex my grandmother had given her when she cleared out her house (possibly also of 30 years...). I loved. They were so cute and so hopelessly retro. But I was in a downsizing frame of mind because...well, because I was standing there ass deep in my parent's accumulated crap. I'm sure they've long been scooped up by someone in southern New Hampshire who frequents the Salvation Army stores.
However, there's a freebie chart which will allow me to remember what I had to pass up. Check out Hancock's House of Happy for a cross stitch pattern of vintage pyrex designs! {via craft magazine)
I love vintage pyrex! It is so fun to use.
ReplyDeleteYou've got a lot of willpower to let those go! I love the pattern you linked to as well. Very cute.
ReplyDeleteHow cool. The pattern of vintage Pyrex is awesome.
ReplyDeleteI still have some that I use. I don't think of them as 'vintage', more like 'part of the wood work'! They last forever and I don't have the heart to replace them.
ReplyDeleteI don't have any vintage Pyrex, but the chart is such a cool idea!Retro-Quaker!
ReplyDeleteI have some of my mom's old Pyrex bowls. I rarely use them, but I can't make myself give them away. I need to put them on display on top of my cabinets.
ReplyDeleteThat chart is seriously adorable.
LOVE that chart. Will have to figure out something to do with it - maybe an ornament. Vintage pyrex will forever remind me of my grandmother, the same way her Crazy Daisy / Spring Blossom Green Corelle dishes do.
ReplyDeleteLove the pyrex, my grandma had some too. Some of it my mother got and still has, and some I have. The one on the bottom looks especially familiar. Boy do these bring back memories of yummy casseroles, especially grandma's chicken and cream of mushroom soup one with chow mein noodles on top :)
