Anyone who's taken classes with Maureen Appleton of Heart's Content, knows she loves the one over one. (Back when I took a class with her, she was praising God for her perfect vision. Because what God wanted from Maureen was for her to design one over one on linen she imported from Scotland.) This is 40 count. I was showing it to my dad today, and he couldn't even see it. So, it's a little tiny. But I am finding it pretty easy to work on with my cheaters.
The weather sucks down here, but the dude's finding it better than a good day at work. Off to play bingo at the Moose. You know that when you come down to Florida, you turn into a senior citizen no matter what your age, right?
Had to laugh about bingo!! Did you go to an early bird special for dinner too?
ReplyDeleteThat ornament is too cute!
I did one of Maureen Appleton's big samplers over one. I really did not know any better when I started. Once I got going and over the next three years, I learned to love over one. I would need cheaters now.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering why I felt so much older during my last trip to Florida.... I didn't resort to bingo though. That is really tiny, doing 1 over 1 on 40 count!
ReplyDeleteLove Maureen's stuff - I think I have a fob pattern called "Z" maybe.... not sure - I wonder where that thing is. Anyway, your start looks great! My sister (who is younger) lives in FLA and goes to the Moose thing all the time - I told her exactly the same thing - she's younger than me but got to be a SS before me!
ReplyDeleteLove Maureen. Took a class with her at SOXS right after she had published Floral Finesse. Her version was on black linen - absolutely stunning. Off to look at what's new in Maureen's world.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right about the bingo thing. I do the same when visiting my mom in Florida.
Not too sure I like the froofroo business on the original but the ornament is cute. You're doing great. I don't know if I could do 40ct even with cheaters!
ReplyDeleteBINGO never hurts and who know maybe you will win!
Happy Stitching and Visiting!
That's tiny and will be very cute.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the bingo, an old neighbour of mine won a cool million with online bingo, so you never know your luck :) My fingers are crossed for you!
Give me 40 count instead of over one any day!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the bingo! ;)
So cute! I love this. And yes, when we were in FL over the summer, we played Bingo too (I won one round, even). Too funny!
ReplyDeleteIt is looking great. I used to go to bingo with my Mum once a week, there was nothing else to do in their tiny country town LOL.
