More Grandmothers (Not Mine)
The Comics Alliance is all het up because someone's stitched some comic book characters. It so confuses them--cross stitch is for grannies but the kids like comics and now all mashed up--they can hardly compose a sentence:
We've seen superheroes translated into everything ranging from paperback novel covers to origami, but now they've finally crossed into an arts and crafts medium where even your grandma may not be able to relate to them: cross stitch.
And if you like these, check out Wee Little Stitches etsy shop. (Remember, we're condemning the writers not the designers.) (Because, frankly, I think I may be in love with her for Pixel People Scooby Doo.) (You know, just go look at everything in her store. I {heart}.)
You know, designing in a pixel format has to be a lot harder than it looks. I can only imagine trying to represent some of those details (like the Batman symbol) in such low resolution!
I wanted to come back and thank you for posting this. I am currently making one for one of my comic book loving friends, after I finish Firefly for her sister, ( and me...) AND Scooby Doo ... It's a fun bold project, and pretty easy.

What a great way to interest kids into learning to stitch!
ReplyDeletemy next project is to stitch up a few Star Trek characters ... but I am going to be all over that scooby doo.
