Every Tuesday and Saturday nights, Maggie heads to a local restaurant. She sits at the bar and usually* has an appetizer and a cocktail (martini of course!). She sits in the same spot, and eventually they started reserving her place at the bar. One day she told them she wished she had a place to hang her purse. So they installed a hook under the bar.
"It's too far away." She says, "Can you move it?" And they do.
* more on that next week
Gotta love Maggie!
ReplyDeleteSeriously? I love this lady!
ReplyDeleteCan I be her granddaughter too??
Hey - I saw somewhere on the interwebby-thing a place where you can have your blog (or portions thereof) printed as a book. You should amass all your Maggie stories for the family- next year's Xmas list- DONE!
I can't wait until I'm old enough to be as sassy as Maggie! what fun to say what you want...and have folks take care of things for you :)
ReplyDeleteOMG seriously?? That's too funny!!! I think I need to practice being a little bit more like Maggie...she has guts!
ReplyDeleteGotta love your grandmother! Ha - what a hoot!
ReplyDeleteI love her gumption!
ReplyDeleteOh my god, that woman just takes the cake!!
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha ha ha! That's awesome!
ReplyDeleteGotta love a gal with attitude! Hey, if you don't ask for what you want, you shouldn't be surprised if you don't get it.
ReplyDeleteMaggie is my hero.
ReplyDeleteBwahahahahahahahaaaaa! I <3 Maggie. I wish she were my grandmother. Is that the correct grammar? I need you to teach me the was/were grammatical rules.
ReplyDeleteI wish she WERE is correct. If something is not so ("if", "wish") we use be/were. Read up on the subjunctive in English.
ReplyDeleteThat is gorgeous.
